Riley's Stats

Oh, and I forgot to post...Riley had her 5-year-old well-child check up on Wednesday. She had 3 shots which she said felt like REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, big mosquitoes biting her. But she did fine.

She is 42.4 lbs. and 42.5" which is right in the 50-75% percentile as always in weight and height. But she is far from average in our book!

Change of Plans

I know I promised new pictures today of a fantastic Build-A-Bear party...but the birthday girl had other ideas. She has had a cold for about a week and yesterday she was pretty lethargic. She spiked a temp near 103 in the afternoon and threw up all over her new birthday chair. (TMI?) We took her to urgent care and found out she has a slight ear infection and probably a viral bug to go with it. She's on meds for the ear, but we had to reschedule the party...photos to come at a later date.

The good news, the kiddo has no fever this morning and despite hating the taste of the meds, is feeling much better today. Laying low all weekend. Here's hoping we get to Trick-or-Treat!

Halloween Craft Project

Sorry for the delay in posts, we have have had a cold running rampant in this house and I haven't had much to post about. But being trapped in the house for a few days, we decided to do a craft project I found in a magazine. Riley LOVES this project and keeps begging me to empty more glass jars to do more. Lucky for me, most of our condiments come in plastic!

Happy Birthday Riley Rose!

5 years ago I was sleep deprived, after arriving at the hospital at 3 a.m. to "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" playing at the nurses station. 12 hours, some amazing nurses and doctor H...and some good drugs later, my beautiful baby girl was here...7 minutes before the Vikings game started. (Weird the things you remember). Happy Birthday Riley Rose. We love you so much!

Open Gym

Oh no! Looks like Riley's hooked. We went to open gym in Maple Grove today and now all I keep hearing is "I want to take Gymnastics...PLEASE!" The kids had so much fun and the moms were sooooo tired after chasing, jumping and retrieving small people from the pit!

Row and Riley Updates

Riley Updates:
Riley will turn 5 on Saturday. I will have her height and weight stuff next week, but for now, she is in 4-5 year Pre-K and loves it. She is in her own bedroom in the basement and has transitioned really well! She loves playing with the neighbor kids and having lots of play dates. Her first "hockey" injury might mean a tooth that comes out a little early, but overall, she is loving hockey and loved T-ball this year too.

Rowan Updates:
His favorite new words are "stop!" "Wait!" and "No!" He can say airplane, hand, moo, i do (Whenever he wants something he points and says I do...anticipating the question, do you want that? It's kinda funny. He also says "mon" meaning c'mon and always waves his had when saying it. I don't know how much I'm duplicating some of his words...but I think these are the newest ones. He loves his sister and wants to wake her up in the morning. "Ry-Ry...Are you???" meaning... where are you:)

I think that's it. Josh likes to take the kids to all the parks in the area when he runs...this is the newest one he found. Sounds like it was a good one!

TIGF - Anniversary in Excelsior

As I mentioned, Friday was our anniversary last week. We went to dinner at Jake O'Connors (My favorite Irish pub in the Twin Cities) in Excelsior and then Kaliedoscoops (Ice cream shop in Champlin) for dessert. Mom and Dad took the kids for the night so we could enjoy the evening curled up on the couch watching my gift to Josh...Season's 3 and 4 of Big Bang Theory! We had a wonderful night. Thanks Mom and Dad for watching the kids and the anniversary gift...which I haven't figured out how to spend "frivolously" yet... and Thanks Mark and Linda for covering most of dinner:)
