Riley didn't get into fishing until close to the end, but then she caught a Rock Bass and that was all you heard about the rest of the trip. Even random strangers had to hear about her Rock Bass:) In other fish tales...All the big kids pulled in LOTS of sunnies and Zack proclaimed himself a Master Bass Fisherman. (That was before he fell in off the dock and caught Darin's finger with the hook!), but I think he recovered nicely and was ready to go again soon after! Good thing Zacky had swimming lessons and is a fish of his own kind! Even Adie loved fishing and she doesn't usually like that kind of thing. She wanted to touch every fish the grown-ups caught! Did I mention Hubert is perfect for fishing? The kids literally just dropped their line in at the end of the dock and had a constant flow in fish coming in!

I love going "up north" because there are way more birds and lots that we don't see down here. The Loons were there to greet us when we arrived. I didn't get pictures of every bird, but there were Green and Blue Herons, Eagles, Osprey, King Fishers, Loons, Ducks and some random one we still aren't sure of...Maybe a Common Golden Eye or Canvasback? I even saw some Sandhill Cranes on the drive home. And those are just the birds I was counting...I don't count sparrows, blackbirds, crows etc:)

Let the Games Begin...

Oh, not the Olympics...for the next two weeks or so there will be a mass of photos from our annual trip to Nisswa! So here it goes!

It takes us two fully PACKED SUVs to travel for a week. GEEZ! This year after a few years bouncing around, we were BACK on Lake Hubert! We outgrew the original place we had stayed for several years and tried a few other homes on Pelican, Ox and Nisswa before returning "home" to our favorite place. We were all so excited to get back to Hubert that NONE of us noticed this place has no air conditioner! Despite that first two nights of unbelievable heat, we survived and are even considering going back next year. You just can't beat this lake for fishing, beach and water clarity!

Thanks again Mom and Dad for organizing and doing so much "extra" to make this week possible and fantastic!
