Feed My Starving Children

Riley and I got to go to Feed My Starving Children with her Faith Formation group last week. I only took one picture cuz if you use your camera you have to go back and wash your hands every time! Riley really enjoyed the field trip and I think she kinda got it!

Birthday's...the end.

Finally got to celebrate Adie and Brynn's December b-days on the weekend of MLK. It's getting crazy trying to nail down everyone's schedules with basketball and skiing taking up almost every weekend!

Happy Birthday Megs...and BIRTHday Mom ;)

So today is another birthday...Meg claims I am older than her this year because she is in Vegas and there is a 2 hour time difference...but for the rest of the year...and the rest of your life, I don't think so DUDE! (and just for that, I chose your fave picture!)

Plus, if I have the timing right, you will be in an airplane over the Central time zone at our actual birthday...so there! Happy Day you dork! Safe trip home, welcome back to the snow!

Snow Fun

More from yesterday, here's the pics from our neighborhood snow hill. Riley thinks she might try snowboarding...well...maybe..until she fell a few times...then it's the worst thing EVER! We shall see!

Another Day in the Snow!

Can you believe it...ME in the snow...OUTSIDE...two days IN A ROW...in WINTER!?! This never happens, in case you missed the sarcasm! But we had a LOT of fun this weekend! Yesterday snowshoeing, today was the start of my niece, Adie's ski racing season so we headed out to Wild Mountain for her runs and then came home and Josh took the kids sledding/snowboarding on the neighborhood hill while I chopped ice off the driveway...don't worry, Josh offered to do it, but I sent him to the hill with the kids instead...I needed the exercise...and the quiet:)

PS, next year Brynnie will probably be up there with her big sis! She's already doing Black Diamond runs herself! Fun to watch them doing their thing, even it it terrifies Auntie Mo-Mo!

Funny side story: Adie was telling her skiing friend about me...and freaking her out with the Twin thing...and her friend asked what my real name was...Adie didn't know! ;)

Snowshoeing!

My mom asked me a few weeks back if we sell snowshoes at work. I said we do and I often think about buying some because I think it would be fun! So then we found out that the MN Landscape Arboretum offers free admission all of January and they have snowshoe rental too...and since we are all feeling some serious cabin fever, when the temps warmed up and we had some free time, we decided now was the perfect time to try it! What a beautiful day outside and a fun time with my parents and the kiddos!

Crafty Kid!

Riley loves all things crafty...she taught herself to make dresses without sewing, she has made a robot that looked just like Wall-E while I was at work one night...she loves to create! So this week she took the first of what will likely be a lot of future sewing classes. Although Joann Fabric is MESSED UP when it comes to running classes, here is Riley finished project. A pillowcase! And she chose the fabric without my input, despite it being one of my favorite art patterns!

Not only did she learn how to make a pillowcase this weekend, but my mom also taught how to knit! Something I have NEVER been able to figure out! (I blame being a lefty, but no excuses, my kid is better at it than me!)
