Birthday Weekend!
We had a busy weekend of birthdays! Saturday we celebrated both of my nieces December Birthdays...we had to celebrate early because one of them was getting a suitcase...more on that later...Frozen themed...so of course they built a snowman(no pics?)...and also made some Sven antlers and had a frozen music scavenger hunt!

The End of Summer/Fall!
Found this nest in a bush out front while we were cleaning gutters and sealing up the bee hive from this summer...the last remnants of Fall before the snow hits :(

Little Free Library Update.
I know Meg will be on me to update so here's a quick update on the Little Free Library. So far it is going GREAT! I love changing the books every week and seeing kids light up when they are looking for books. Better yet, I have a neighbor kid hooked on reading, and a day care that stopped by every Tuesday (up until last week...I doubt they will walk here in the snow!) and they even have a name for library day...they call it "Terrific Traveling Tuesday!" Love!!! In the past 2 weeks I have gotten 6 donations from LFL visitors, family and friends. I even have Meg reading more than she ever has before ;) So there Meg...that's what you get for blog nagging ;)
I am now a member of a group of LFL stewards (that's a fancy term for what most people call us...librarians). We just finished a holiday book swap and it's like Christmas around here...packages of books arriving from Michigan, California and Washington state!
Karen, I know you check this...did you know there is a Little Free Library in your neighborhood? Or to be more specific, over in the townhouses where Josh and I used to live? It's a mailbox set out on a table, the address is right across the driveway from our old place! (not sure if it's out in the winter?!?!)
So there's all the exciting details...here's pictures of some of the donations, a picture of the LFL today and I will post one on Tuesday after the snow flies. I will be keeping it open all winter long, so stop by! Feel free to park in the driveway.

The Best Teachers!
Did I mention that Riley has the BEST teachers this year!?! A Huge improvement over last year, and maybe that helped us appreciate these teachers even more, but how cool is this class party? And really, those teachers were in character as "substitute teachers, Mrs. Uffda and Mrs. Funklestein" all day long...and they were HILARIOUS!
