LFL Update

Here's where we are in the Little Free Library(TM) process. We have to structure, we have had a bunch of neighbor and family kids come to paint it. If all goes as planned, we will be installing it this weekend and the GRAND OPENING is 4:00 on July 13th. If the weather does not co-operate we will do the opening on National Nite Out. But here's hoping! I am SO EXCITED it is finally here!

Soccer Mom

Ok, so I fought it...and fought it...and fought it some more...But we are now a soccer family. Rowan insisted that this was the activity he wanted for the summer. So here goes! Brynnie is also on his team and so is one of his buddies from PreK. And we even know the coach! He was Riley and Adie's assistant coach for softball! Rowan is so darn proud of himself when he puts his "blades" on (his cleats)! How can you not melt...ok...So I'm a soccer mom...

Chop, Chop, Chop!!!

I have been growing my hair out for 3 maybe close to 4 years now to cross something off my bucket list before my hair turns white and I can't do it anymore. I have always wanted to donate to one of those organizations like Locks of Love that make wigs for cancer patients. My hair wasn't quite as long as the Locks of Love organization requires...they only take 10 inches or more...but my hair had kinda stalled out and didn't seem to be growing anymore and it was driving me...and my grandma...crazy! Good news is, I found a group that takes 8 inches so off to Pantene Beautiful Lengths my ponytail shall go. Here's the new look...it's shorter that I will eventually keep it, but I am happy be back to my short shanks!

A few months back I discovered an international movement creating free libraries in neighborhoods all over the world. It started in Hudson, Wisconsin and has spread to countries near and far. I LOVED this idea and have become rather obsessed with starting one of our own. I have a friend's dad making one for us (My Mother's Day gift from Josh) and I have the official registration and we are ready to get started as soon as it's finished. In the meantime we have come across a few in our summer travels and keep a supply of books in the car to swap when we find one! Take a book, Leave a book. It's free, it's fun and it keeps things interesting :)

Swimming lessons is OVER! We ended with a Level 2 and a Level 5 and major improvement from both. Riley can back crawl the entire length of the pool unassisted and Rowan is doing great with his front and back floats. AMAZING since he wouldn't even put his face in for the first few weeks!

Our "Graduate"

Rowan graduated from 3-year-old PreK today! Only one more year of PreK in this house...weird! They did a bunch of silly songs and then we had ice cream! Then we went out for a summer celebration lunch, just the two of us! YEAH for summer!!! And YEAH his teachers survived the year of 15 boys and 3 girls!
