Eastman Nature Center Valentine's Celebration

Today Rowan and I and our buddies all went to the Eastman Nature Center for their Valentine Puppet Show. Row and I got there a little early so we went to the observation room (set up with huge glass windows viewing a ton of bird feeders and trees that are perfect for woodpeckers (lots of dying branches, etc.) We watched the puppet show, got to make our own cookies, play with play dough, a sensory table with birdseed and go on a little scavenger hunt in the woods. Good thing today was warmer than yesterday! So much fun...and I am still enjoying my camera ;) Sorry...lots of pictures this time!

Happy 5th Birthday Little Man!

I can't believe he's 5 today. FIVE? He's growing up so quickly, last year he still had a little bit of my baby in there, now he's practically all grown up! He's sweet, and crazy, snuggly and wild, a goofball and a super hero...and he has my heart! Happy Birthday Little Man!

Bird Nerd in Training!

Riley is a Bird Nerd in Training...she has my old camera and she has come with me on several of our bird hunts (along with a friend from grade school who is also a bird nerd!). Here are some of her best shots...she got the funky neck one better than I did!

OMG Finally!!!

Here she is! The bird I know you have all been waiting for...oh, wait, no that was just me! Here's the bird I've been crazy to find for the past 2 weeks :) Finally found her at 4:19 p.m. on top of Pot Belly in Maple Grove...then she flew right in front of us to the light pole in the later pics. So cool! Epic Bird Nerd!

Almost 5!

We celebrated Party #1 with the family yesterday for Mr. Spiderman himself! The almost-5-year-old (don't call him 5, he's not 5 yet and he won't allow it!) is a super hero buff so we had a Spidey themed party. He loved it! He loved every single gift he got and he is spending the day taking every gift out of the package and playing with everything! He is in Spidey (and TMNT, sports, etc.) heaven!

Snowy Update

If you would like to see pictures of the Snowy Owl, go to Meg's blog. She actually found her...I have been up there 9 times and still no sighting! Sigh.

Snowy Hunt

I wish I had photos to go with this post. Apparently, the Snowy Owl has again made it's way down this far south into the state. This year in MAPLE GROVE...like less than a mile from where I work! Ugh. I have gone up there 5 times in the past 4 days in search of her, but so far, she is proving to hide well! I will not give up...but I don't know if and when I will find her. I HOPE photos to come soon!
