Trick-or-Treat!

Our little Tinkerbell was out for over an hour and a half with the neighbor kids this year. She had a fantastic time! I on the other hand was very disappointed we only had 32 kids this year...about half our normal. Booooo....now what do I do with the other 58 candy bars...oh wait, I eat them;) Yummy!!!!

Is it me, or does Ms. Tink look like a teenager eating that sucker?

TIGF

Gee, would you guess, my TIGF this week...It's Halloween weekend! I love Halloween! I love handing out candy, I love costumes (mine is admittedly lame this year, but what can ya do?) I love watching Josh take Riley out and watching how excited she gets to be Tinkerbell sans wings most of the time. I love pumpkin seeds and parties and jack-o-lanterns and did I mention candy??? One of my cravings with this kiddo is Baby Ruth bars...hopefully Riley gets lots of them tonight;)

Play Dates with Emme and Izze

We have had two play dates with Emme and Izze this week. We had one scheduled a week or two ago, but Emme was sick, so we had to reschedule. We had already registered for the Children's Museum Halloween party which was on Monday, and the girls are hosting us for a little Halloween Party today! (I'm sure there will be more pics to come, but for now, here are pics from Monday.)

The Children's Museum was all decked out for Halloween, there was even a "Spooky Forest" that Riley really liked (black lights and spider webs, etc.). Sorry there are no good pictures of that room, it's hard to take good photos with black-light and moving targets.

Riley kinda likes all the spooky stuff of Halloween...but I think it's messing with her sleep, maybe giving her weird dreams? She's been up in the middle of the night a lot lately. As much as I love this time of year, I'll be happy when Halloween is over.

Josh Wants the World to See

Josh is rather proud of his pumpkin carving masterpiece this year. While it doesn't rival what my dad does with a gourd, he's pretty darn happy with the way his witch turned out! And I must say, his daughter is probably as excited as Daddy! Riley and Mommy carved the smaller pumpkin (which, by the way, we grew in our own garden this year! It's a little green, but it still works for carving!). And best of all, no stitches or emergency trips to the Urgent Care. Thanks Auntie Katie for the safety carving set after last year's "incident"!!!

Old Pics

I just got an e-mail from my friend Angie who married my "little brother" Jeff this summer. These were pictures taken at the wedding in August and I thought they were pretty darn cute...

Shower for Baby Q

Our friends Meg and Chris (no, not my sister and Brother-in-law, Meg and Chris, I know it's confusing) are due the end of December with their first kiddo, his name will be Quinnlan (sp?) so they call him Q. Here are pics from the shower hosted by Chris's aunts at his mom's house in Minneapolis. Chris has been a friend since Josh and started dating and was in our wedding. I have loved Meg since the first time we met her and they are a super cute couple. It's so much fun to celebrate one of our friends in "the group" starting their family! The food was fantastic, and it was great to see Meg and "TV's Chris Nettleton" who live in Duluth where Chris is a sports broadcaster for the news station up there.

I have a few random connections to Chris's family too...his mom is a writer/editor and was my first real step into the professional world of journalism, letting me help her with some book research and also getting me my job at Minnesota Monthly back in the day...She's awesome and her house is amazing! Chris's aunt Kim happens to be the person we bought our house from. We didn't know until we were closing on the house...it's fun to see her and we got to meet her kids this time too! Her daughter Marri (sp?) wrote her name on the inside of the closet of what is now Riley's room. We thought it was sweet and left it there as part of the history of the house. (I'll check the spelling of her name as soon as Riley wakes up tomorrow, I don't want to go in there now...)

The other picture is of the three girls who were preggers at the shower, Alyssa, myself and Meg...guess I should have worn some taller shoes, huh? Alyssa and I are due about a week apart.

Ok, I'm rambling...sorry...fun party!

More from the Final Party...

Ok, here's a few more from yesterday's last 3rd birthday party...The one of Riley and I on the Merry Go Round I only post because it shows the cool Dragon we rode on - I know it's very similar to one I posted yesterday, but you couldn't see the dragon! The Other pics are of Great Grandma Mary and Cuddles, the cat Riley adores. Thanks again Schusters!
