'Twas the Night Before Christmas

I took Riley to see "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" at Stages Theater in Hopkins for her first play last week and she literally sat at the edge of her seat the whole time. She was fascinated by the Sugar Plum Fairies! (You can't really tell in the picture, but they are VERY glittery fairies!)

Note to parents: If your child has blinking shoes, DO NOT let them wear them to a play! Very distracting. Of course, I shouldn't talk, we went to the play with our friends and they got the time wrong as we walked in about 5 minutes after the play had started (we thought it was 10:30 but it started at 10:00...oops!). Thankfully, it was a kids play so the ushers were very patient!

Overall a great first play experience for Riley. now on to Broadway;) EEk!

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Today my parents celebrate 39 married years! We are looking forward to having a little party to celebrate tonight. We love you guys! (pictures to come... assuming Mom lets me post them:)

TIGF

This week I am thankful that we squeezed in a few special things before the holidays and before our very special (niece???) Baby T arrives...We had a play date with my friends Jenny and Aimee on Tuesday (forgot to get the camera out, sorry, no pics).

Wednesday I took Riley to her first play: "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" at Stages Theater in Hopkins. She was literally at the edge of her seat the whole time and loved the Sugar Plum Fairies! I do have pictures of that and I will post them soon, but tonight we are bringing her to the Holidazzle Parade downtown so I am keeping my camera in my purse until then so I don't forget it!

And tomorrow I am going solo to a baby shower for some friends I haven't seen in years! Looking forward to seeing Nick and Angie again and I'm thankful to Facebook for reconnecting with old friends!

Riley's a Helper...Sometimes

Riley had a lot of fun helping Daddy put up the Christmas tree this year. She held the next strand of lights until Daddy was ready for them. Then she had fun "ornamenting" the tree. You will notice a few branches at the bottom are a bit weighed down...she had a few favorite places to hang stuff...Makes for an interesting tree! We also have some glasses that make looking at Christmas lights even more fun...The are 3-D like glasses that make the lights look like snowflakes or the word "Noel" surrounding them. She makes sure we have these glasses on whenever we admire the tree and sometimes she even takes them with us places to look at other people's lights.

More from Adrienne's Party

As is often the case, you can spend a lot of money on kids for their birthday, but the best gifts are often the part you didn't pay much for. The kids had more fun with the rubber punch ball and the big Elmo bag that one of Adie's gifts was wrapped in...and I think Grandpa had more fun with that part too;)

Happy Birthday Miss A!

Today is Adrienne's 2nd birthday. We celebrated this weekend, despite being in holding mode for Baby T #2 coming soon. No action on that front but here's some pics from the party. Auntie Amber and Uncle Matt made the "cake" which were actually cake suckers for the big Elmo Party. VERY impressive! Happy Birthday Adrienne! We love you:)

Wow, Whata Weekend!

We had a VERY busy weekend this week, with Adrienne's birthday party and a full day of fun, visiting the new Maple Grove Hospital where our "Baby Brother" will be born in February. (Hi Karen! Sorry I had to bail on our hello's, but I didn't want to miss the tour! We were in a hurry to get to the next destination;) After that we went to see Santa and his reindeer. Riley was less than excited about the reindeer, or Santa, really, but she did sit on his lap and pose for the picture much better than she has in the past! Then we were off to find a Christmas tree, set that up and get it decorated. Needless to say, we are all kinda exhausted, but thankfully, Josh has tomorrow off so we get to unwind a bit...sorta:)
