Fairy Fun Fest!

Ok, so maybe it's called Renaissance Festival, but for us, it's all about the Fairies. In fact, we hardly took pictures anything BUT the Fairies! This year we could not find time to go to Ren Fest during September like we normally do...but we were lucky that they extended it one weekend into October and we were able to go on the LAST day of the Festival. But that almost lead to serious sadness!

Because MN Ren Fest is normally done the last weekend in September, Twig the Fairy...arguably the ONLY reason some of us go every year...was scheduled to be in North Carolina for the start of their Ren Fest that weekend. But a hurricane can do crazy things...like postpone a Ren Fest and blow a Fairy back home to MN to be there just in time for the last day!!! So not only did we get to see Twig, but because they had booked a back-up Fairy Friend, Zinnia, to cover for Twig's absence, we go to see them BOTH!

We have seen Zinnia before. She was a "fairy in training" back when we saw her last, and I can tell you she has become almost as magical as Twig...almost! She is a bubble fairy and does amazing tricks with bubbles without even using a wand! I wish I was better at posting video, but it's pretty cool!

Volleyball Girl

Riley has decided she wants to try Volleyball. She wasn't sure if she was going to do basketball again, but has now decided to give that one more year too, because this is the first year that it's an all-girls team and not co-rec. After this year, I think she might just pick one and stick with it for Fall/Winter, but since the seasons don't overlap, who knows. They are only allowed one sport per season. Also, Rowan can start basketball this winter too, so there will be lots of basketball in the future, but for now...Riley the Volleyball Star (she things she's pretty good...and she's right as far as first time players goes! What's important now is that she is having fun!)

Wedding with Friends
