He's here!!!!!!!!

Rowan James Schuster arrived at 10:09 this morning. He's got lots of brown hair (so I'm told) and he was 7 lbs 9 oz 21 in long. He kept them up all night long! Mo's water broke at home ast night around 9. We'll have pic up as soon as Katie or I get to the hospital to see him.

Keep Your Eyes On The Blog!

Hello All,
This is Molly's sister Katie. As you may have guessed Molly is not able to post a blog today because she is at the hospital!

There is no baby yet which is awful for Mo because her water broke last night at 9:00! They have been at the hospital since 10:00 last night and things are progressing very slowly. They put her on pitocin at 3:00 AM but that hasn't sped things up very much. She is currently dilated to a 7 and on an epidural. Needless to say they are pretty tired and anxious for this baby to arrive.

Megan and I will keep you posted with news and pictures when the baby arrives. Hopefully that will be very soon!

Baby Boy Update

Well, he's coming soon. We know for sure by the end of the week our family will be growing by one. Last night, after counting contractions all day again, they were between 3-5 minutes apart so we decided to head back into the hospital for assessment. After watching the first half of the Super Bowl on the fancy TV in our room, it was ... Once again, lots of contractions, but no progress.

We talked to the nurse about what we could do, since I've been having these contractions for 3 weeks now...all day long every day, but then they go away at night. I'm just afraid I'm going to start ignoring them because they have become part of the "normal" and then I'll be in trouble when the time is really here. She talked to the doctor and they decided that when I hit 39 weeks at the end of this week, they would be comfortable inducing me and they put me on the schedule for Friday if I don't have him before then.

So, stay tuned...sometime this week there will be news of Baby Boy Schuster and he will NOT be a Valentine baby if all goes as planned. I do have a scheduled appointment today, so if anything changes since yesterday, I will post again later.

Environmental Tips

Use a reusable water bottle

Have you ever doubted that your decision to recycle a bottle or bring a reusable container makes a difference? If so, here is some news to keep you going.

Compared against a single-use water bottle that is tossed in the garbage, drinking from a reusable water bottle filled with tap water will reduce energy consumption by 85 percent and greenhouse gases by 79 percent!

• Drink tap water. Bottled water costs as much as $10 per gallon compared to less than a penny per gallon for tap water. In addition, federal water quality standards are usually more rigorous for tap water than for bottled water. Those concerned with taste or quality can also add a filtration system.

• Buy only 1 or 2 reusable water bottles and use them frequently. Reusable water bottles are "in" right now, and come in fun colors and patterns. If you buy too many, though, you'll reduce the benefit of using a reusable bottle.

• If you host an event, provide a tap or pitcher for water. Encourage guests and attendees to bring a bottle or cup.

• If bottled water must be purchased, choose the thinnest bottle and purchase water that is bottled locally. This will reduce packaging volume and energy for shipping.

• Last, but not least, continue to recycle any bottles you buy. We should all continue to recycle bottles and other materials. Recycling that same single-use water bottle we referred to above will reduce life-cycle energy consumption by 24 percent and greenhouse gas emissions by 16 percent.

Doctor Update

As of 3:00 yesterday afternoon, I am now dialated to about 1-1.5ish. At least now I know the contractions I've been having since mid-January are doing something. I am almost 38 weeks along and Riley was born at about 38 weeks...almost 39 weeks...so I would guess sometime soon there will be Baby Boy Schuster news to post. I have given both my sisters access to post on my blog so updates will come ASAP when we have news. In the meantime, Happy Groundhogs Day!

Daddy's Girl

Ok, since I've been lacking in photo posts, I made an effort this weekend to take some pictures. I am going to schedule a few posts if I can because we really don't know when this little wiggle monster is planning to arrive, but my feeling is sooner rather than later. I will have my sisters update my blog and Facebook pages with photos and details when the time comes.

This bunch of photos was actually not planned. Riley must have noticed that I haven't been taking pictures much lately because I was in the bathroom getting ready on Saturday morning and Josh was standing outside talking to me. Riley got her bench, put it in front of Josh, grabbed the camera and gave it to me so I could take pictures of her and Daddy and she posed like a ham for about 10 minutes. Do ya think she's a Daddy's girl?
