Birthdays Dinner!

Saturday we celebrated both my mom and dad's birthdays, we went to their house and made dinner and had a fun day watching slides from the past (and yes, Mom, I mean FUN), and then during dinner the entertainment involved these beautiful critters walking up through the back yard into the front and down the street. Didn't really sit much for dinner, spent a lot of time snapping these...but it was a great night!

Total Slacker!

I know I have been slacking in the blog department. I have not been using my camera as much since I got the ipad, but it's harder to blog photos from the iPad, so here for your viewing pleasure is Riley's most recent creative adventure. She got a book about Wall-E the disney robot last week at the Books and Bagles event at her school. It is an Easy Reader Level 1 book and she has quickly learned to read it very well and reads it to everyone who will listen...and even some who don't listen very well. (Rowan?).

So yesterday she decided she wanted to make a robot that actually works. Well, I am terrible at this kind of thing, but I went grocery shopping and this is what Josh and Riley came up with...it's not fully functioning, but the arms move and he's on wheels so he is partly functioning.

Happy Valentine's Day!

From my Valentines to yours, Happy Valentine's Day!

 Happy 3rd Birthday to the boy of many faces and our "bouncing baby" Rowan. We love you so much and you make every day brighter...and busier...and noisier...and amazing!

This was a busy weekend for us! Friday night Josh took Riley to the Daddy Daughter Princess Ball at her school. They even went out to Sammy Perellas for a dinner date before the ball. Rowan and I were supposed to join them for dinner and then they were going to depart in Daddy's carraige while Rowan and I took my car home. But our furnace went out so Rowan and I had to wait for the repair guy. They had a wonderful evening and Rowan and I spent some quality time at home.

Saturday, we celebrated Rowan's birthday a little early. Meg and I are helping with a baby shower next weekend so we chose to do it early rather than plan two parties in one weekend. (Did that with Riley's b-day this year and it was crazy planning). Rowan was thrilled with all his presents and can't wait to open every box and get those toys out!

Sunday we invited the neighbors over for the Super Bowl and had a fun time with them since we don't see a lot of each other in the winter...Hockey season is killer in this neighborhood for getting any "play" time!

Today we are back to lots of playdates and normal school activities! Whew!
