Basketball is Over...Now What?

Ok, so basketball is over. This weekend was Riley's last "game" and I don't know it, but there was a trophy presented at the end too! (I was there for the game, but unfortunately I missed the presentation because I had 2 Girl Scout Cookie Deliveries that arrived during the game!) But Josh was there and he got a few pictures. I wish I would have known!

Riley's team showed GREAT improvement over the past weeks, winning the drill where they have to run to half court, grab the ball and dribble in for a "lay-up"! And I think the kid  Riley is matched up with here might even be a friend of my nephew's? It was a good end of the season!

Well, this crazy monkey is turning 4 today! He is all boy...all energy and smiles. We love you bunches, big boy!

Rowan's birthday is later this week...we have had two parties now to celebrate so actual birthday will just be us and pretty low-key, but here's some pics from the family parties!

Ok, so while I seem to be looking up a lot more, I was driving to pick Rowan up at school today and look WHO I found? I have never seen a Great Horned Owl in the wild either...it's a GREAT week for owl watching I guess!

I FOUND HIM!!!!!! It only took about 4 times in 3 different locations, but I tracked this stinker down! This is on a house top in Ramsey off of Bunker Lake Rd just before Armstrong.

Owl-lusive!

Meg is going to be on my case for not posting again, so here it is...I'm on an owl hunt. Snowy Owls normally live in Canada and sometimes far northern Minnesota in the winter. Because the winter has been so cold, their food has moved farther south and so there have been spottings as far south as Southern MN. There are a few spots that I am on a mission to find one! If you want to see the Snowy, Meg has seen it up in Ramsey and has pictures posted on her blog. My sister-in-law also has one near their home in Henderson...I am dying to see one in the wild. I have seen the one at the MN Zoo, but this is such a rare thing I REALLY want to see it myself...I will post pictures WHEN I see one...So far I have checked Ramsey and Maple Grove in "known" sighting areas. They continue to "owl-lude" me!

Brrrr-midji!

Last weekend we took a one day adventure up to Bemidji to see our college "daughter"...our neighbor Mikayla...up at school. We chose this weekend because another neighbor kid had a hockey tourney up there the same weekend so we stayed in the same hotel as the hockey team and went to one of Jack's games too! But boy was it a lousy weekend to be up north! We came home in near white-out conditions! Whew! But we are all home safe and all cars in our group were in tact (can't say the same for all the hockey families...some of them had some fender bender damage because of icy roads later in the day).
