More Swans...

Swan City!

Ok, or Swan Park...it's in Monticello, and it's a Bird Nerd Paradise :) Not only are there literally thousands of Trumpeter Swans, but a few geese, ducks and 4 bald eagles hanging around too! Took a few fellow bird nerds to see this place today!

Fairy Garden Fun

Ok, sick of my bird nerd posts? Don't care about play dates? Here's a post for my Fairy Loving friends. There is a garden center in Minnetonka called Tonka-Dale, and it has LOTS of fairy gardens to see, purchase, and dream up all on your own. My mom brought me there today and I could have spent all day...and a LOT of money if I won more that $4 on the power ball! I also decided I want a Lime tree...or an orange tree...or a lemon tree...something to get me through the winter with some pretty smelling flower and the promise of citrus! (I didn't take pics of those, though!)

Children's Museum

Ventured to the Children's Museum with my friend Shannon and her nanny kids this week. And then I remembered why I do NOT love St. Paul. Ugh. the roads are awful, the parking situation is terrible, and I don't understand glass elevators in a parking garage. Just sayin'!

On the positive side of things, Rowan ran around like a crazed lunatic...well, not really, but he had fun checking out everything...really quickly...before moving on...really quickly...to the next thing. Thankfully he knows never to leave an area without mom, but he's hard to keep up with :)

The MCM and the Science Museum both have dino exhibits right now, but we decided to do MCM because it was a LOT cheaper...even if the toddlers would have been free at the Science Museum! The boys had fun...even if my nerves were shot! (Boy, could I whine any more in a post, sorry y'all! Better posts coming soon...)

Strange Bird Sighting...

Ok, so I spend a lot of time looking up...I admit it, I think I'm weird just as much as you do! But I saw this guy on my way to work the other day and didn't have time to check him out, so I had some time today to go back to where I saw him...he wasn't in the exact same place, but close enough to track him down anyway. Still working on identifying this guy. Kinda cool though. I know he's not a common bird we see often!

Rowan's Big Boy Bed.

If I posted this already, I apologize, I thought I posted it, but I think it was just on Facebook. We recently ordered Rowan a Big Boy Bed for his 4th birthday. We ordered parts of it online, on a new web site we found called Wayfair.com. The mattress was one of the parts we ordered through them, but they sent us a Full Size Futon mattress instead of a Twin Size Bed mattress. It arrived in a duffle bag and it was impressive to see how it shipped, but when I realized I got the wrong thing I was worried how on earth I would ship it back!

Well, I talked to someone at the company and they said, don't worry about it! It was our mistake, you KEEP that $150+ mattress (more expensive than the mattress we ordered!) and sell or donate it and we will send the right one. Great customer service! So we put an air mattress on his bed frame until the new one arrived. This time, I took pictures and video of how they ship it and how it turns into a real mattress! Here's the process! (PS we sent the futon mattress off to college with the neighbor girl!)

 Cut the plastic and get out of the way cuz....POP! Out comes a mattress!

 Finished Big Boy Bed! A little hard to make this one, with the drawers, the quilt has to be tucked in. Going to take a while before he figures out how to make his bed by himself, but storage was a must :)

Birthday Bash

Ok, I forgot, I'm doing the Swan thing NEXT weekend, so more pics to come. Yeah! But here's the photos promised of my mom's birthday party! We started the morning with most of us going to do a Mobile Pack for Feed My Starving Children at Zacky's school, then we all went to our house (closest to Zack's school) for lunch and cake and presents! We even got a Mom Approved Photo :) She hates getting her pic taken as much as I do!

Zack had my camera most of the party and all those photos turned out something like the third pic above. Blurry and WAY too close up ;)
