Swim Said the Mama Fishie, Swim if You Can....

We had an unexpectedly good day today! I'm having a little retail party here on Wednesday night so I was starting to clean for that, but I don't want to do too much too soon cuz Riley and daddy can make a mess of a bathroom or kitchen in 5 seconds flat, so we did some quick stuff, Josh washed both cars and we did some grocery shopping.

During two little breaks in the afternoon and evening though, we had some fun with the neighbors today. We were invited to swim next door in their big above-ground pool in the back yard, which Riley LOVES to do and then after dinner we were invited back with the other neighbor kids to make ice cream clowns that Emily found in a craft book from the library.

And to top all that off... THE ICE CREAM TRUCK came through the neighborhood tonight:) Yes, that means I ate ice cream twice tonight, but you just CAN NOT let the ice cream truck come and not buy something!?!?!

Side Story: When I was little and my grandparents lived in North Minneapolis, the Ice Cream Man would come almost every time we stayed with them in the summer(or at least that's how my childhood memory goes). We mostly got bomb pops I think, but I'm very partial to malt cups too! It's just a happy memory of my grandparents!

Then to remove the guilt of eating ice cream twice in one night, we took the neighbor kids on a "quick" walk around the block. Which for those of you who have toddlers, you know that nothing is "quick" when you have to stop and blow the dandelion fluff and pick up pine cones along the way. But it was a fun night! (I might post a few more pics later, but I want permission from Jack and Emily's parents first).
